3 Stages of MD Program at Lincoln American University:

MD Program of Lincoln American University is divided into 3 sub-programs:

1st Year: Pre-medical Program

  • Designed to prepare students to handle the thorough course of study that students will experience in the remaining four years of the MD program.
  • Pre Medical Program acts as a foundation course for the MD Program and is an important part of the complete course in order to understand the next level of basic sciences program.

2nd & 3rd Year: Basic Sciences & Pre Clinical Program

  • Problem-based learning and clinical co-relations.
  • Students are provided with a thorough knowledge of the basic biomedical sciences, physical exam skills and problem-solving techniques beginning in the first semester with the physical diagnosis.
  • In-depth knowledge of the basic medical sciences.
  • A range of problems encountered by doctors and the range of solutions that have been developed for their recognition, investigation, prevention, and treatment.
  • Principles of disease, therapy, ethical and legal issues relevant to the practice of medicine.
  • Classes are augmented with the latest technology & Clinical Training is provided in the early semesters at LAU’s affiliated hospitals and clinical centers.

4th & 5th Year: Clinical Science Program

  • Hands-on experience in clinical services.
  • Record history, perform a physical examination and interpret the findings.
  • Correlate the clinical aspects of medicine to basic sciences.
  • In-depth understanding of clinical practice.
  • Clinical rotations, during which LAU students are sent for clinical rounds to interact with patients and hospital administrators in affiliated hospitals in Guyana, United States, and Canada.
  • Perform as team members, analyze lab data, experience a physician's typical day, diagnose patient cases, and perform procedures, such as suturing, obtaining blood samples, and carrying out vaccinations.
After completing the Clinical Science Program at LAU, the students come out as professional clinical researchers and doctors!


Admission Criteria for MD in America at Lincoln American University:

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Lincoln American University is as under:
  1. The candidate must complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. To put it simply, if you are born on or before 31st December 2002, you can apply for 2019 intake.
  2. The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnologyand English individually and secure at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects of 12th Students belonging to the reserved category (OBC/SC/ST) get a relaxation of 10%. Further, physically challenged students in general/ unreserved category get relaxation of 5%. Minimum aggregate marks required for different category of students are tabulated as under:

  1. For Indian Students, NEET is mandatory. Candidates do not have to appear for any additional entrance exam to get admission in LAU MD Program.
